Plan for Sumas Community Clean Up Day 11/20

Here is the plan for our community cleanup day which is starting at 8:00am 11/20 . All volunteers will need to stop in at the checkin center on the corner of Cherry St and Sumas Ave when you first come in to town. From there, you will get your assignment and directions. We will be more effective if things are structured. We are asking everyone to carpool if they are able to, to help us with parking constraints. Dump trailers will be going to the dumpster next to Bobs and hand unloading trailers and trucks will go to the dumpster next to Edaleen Dairy. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers from 11:30am-1:00pm across the street from the Sumas Christian Advent Church by the Salvation food truck and other providers. We will still have crews going around doing road side pickup all day tomorrow.

We will only be removing personal contents from damaged houses and businesses. We will not be removing any flooring, sheetrock or other structural things. The owners/tenants will need to be there to sign a form and complete a quick questionnaire before we can go in to a house. To get on the list of houses that need personal items removed from inside, please come down to the check in station in person tomorrow or if you are unable to do that, please text 360-594-1468 up until 10:00pm tonight. We will need your name, address and phone number so we can call you back tomorrow to get more information. We will not be responding to texts all night, we will contact you in the morning. Please do not leave your personal information in the comments below for your own privacy and safety.

Thanks!

Kyle Christensen, Mayor of Sumas
