11/20 WHATCOM STRONG DONATION CENTER GRAND OPENING Northwest Washington Fairgrounds

Currently receiving donations listed below only. Will open for those affected by the flood to come get items as soon as donations have been received an organized. Please check back if you are looking to come grab items!

The Whatcom Strong donation center is located in the south end of the Henry Jansen building at the Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center in Lynden, WA. Entrance- Gate 5 off Kok Road.

*During the week of November 22, the center will accept donations on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 2pm.  Updated hours for donation drop off will be posted next week.

Once incoming donations are organized, the donation center will be open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm, for families affected by the floods to come in and find items they need.

To get to the donation center, enter the fairgrounds at gate 5, located at the south entrance of the fairgrounds at 1775 Front Street in Lynden. Keep left to get to the large, red Henry Jansen building.

We understand people want to help however they can, but we are relying on donors to follow the guidelines below to avoid overwhelming our generous volunteers and to ensure the families in need receive items that are in great condition.

Whatcom Strong donation guidelines:

Do not leave donations outside when the center is closed.

All donated items must be new or nearly new, clean, complete and in good working condition.

Accepted items:

  • Household items (Cleaning Supplies, Kitchen supplies)

  • Clothing – new or nearly new condition only, completely free of stains, holes and pilling. Buttons and zippers must be complete and functioning

  • Toiletries – unopened

  • Feminine products

  • Diapers, wipes, rash cream – unopened

  • Small appliances and electronics – must be new and in the box

The donation center is NOT able to accept:

  • All blinds

  • Building materials

  • Computers, printers, phones and accessories

  • Encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines or books

  • Large exercise equipment, golf clubs

  • TV’s and large appliances

  • VHS tapes, cassettes and dvd’s

  • Any outdated, broken, dirty or stained items

Food Items
